Voter registration’ll end rigging – Dosumu

By Abdulwahab Abdulah
Lagos State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP governorship candidate, Dr. Ade Dosumu, has said he was convinced that the on-going voters’ registration exercise will curb rigging by political parties and politicians alike.

He has, meanwhile,  appealed to Nigerians, especially the people of Lagos State to take time off and register for the forthcoming general elections in order to elect credible leaders into political offices.

Dosumu, who spoke while registering at his constituency in Yaba, Lagos, stressed the importance of the on-going exercise for the socio-political development of the country.

Dosumu maintained that it was the civic responsibility of every Nigerian adult to partake in the registration exercise as well as vote during the election and monitor their votes.

“The registration exercise is everybody civic responsibility to register for election once  you are above 18 years and I believe it is very important exercise in the life of any nation. To a very large extent, this registration will curb irregularities that always associated with the conduct of our previous elections.”

The candidate argued that the success or otherwise of the programme depend not only on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, but all Nigerians.
