With the appointment of coach Salisu Yusuf of Kano Pillars and Ike Shorunmu to assist Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Samson Siasia, former Super Eagles shot stopper, Peter Rufai has said that it is a good one for the team.

“It is a good selection because all we want now for our football is to build a new squad and allow the new coaches impart every little experience they have gotten from their knowledge of the game on the team.”
“For their appointment, I do not see anything wrong with it. I was not there as one of the judges but I know that Ike Shorunmu is good and also coach Salisu Yusuf.”
Commenting on the coaches’ impact coming from the home front, Rufai said that it is dependent on the decision of the chief coach as he has the final say on what goes on.
He further said that every football fan in the country is not expecting anything less than victory from the technical crew and the team.
