Sani Kaita joins Iraklis

Nigeria international midfielder Sani Kaita will this week join Greek club Iraklis on a six_month loan deal, MTNFootball.com has been informed.

A top source said that Kaita received several offers but that of Iraklis was the best.
“The move is a six_month loan deal from Monaco and it is now 100% certain he is finally coming to Greece this week,” the top source revealed.

Kaita made headline news for the wrong reasons during last year’s World Cup in South Africa, where his attempted lunge at a Greek player earned him a red card as Nigeria went on to lose a decisive group game.

He received several offers to play in Greece thereafter, but feared a backlash from fans in Greece could work against him.

Since the summer, Kaita has been playing at Ukrainian club Mettalist, also on loan from Monaco.
The defensive midfielder has also been on loan in Russia as he remains surplus to requirements at Monaco.
