The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, gubernatorial re-run campaign organisation in Delta State, has appealed to the Democratic Peoples Party, DPP, governorship candidate in the re-run, Chief Great Ogboru and Chief Edwin Clark to desist from making inflammatory statements on the election that are capable of disrupting the peace in the state.
Dr. Festus Okubor, Director, Media/Publicity of PDP Re-run Campaign Organisation, in a statement in Asaba said, “for the sake of peace and unity of our dear state and as sine qua non for human capital and infrastructural development, as enunciated in the three-point agenda of Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan’s government, we are forced to publicly appeal to the DPP and her candidate in this election, Ogboru and his sponsor, Chief Clark to desist from making false and inflammatory statements on the elections that are capable of disrupting the peace in the state.
“They must appreciate that any challenges posed by organisational shortcomings of INEC affected all parties equally. Omission of voters names indeed affected the PDP far more than any other party. We must all give INEC opportunity to improve by gently pointing out their shortcomings without inciting the public, after all, the courts are there to ensure justice to all,” he added.
