Delta re-run: Petitions inundate INEC office

By Austin Ogwuda
DELTA State INEC Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Gabriel Ada, has expressed worry over the avalanche of petitions arising from the just concluded governorship re-run and the ongoing party congresses.

He said his staff were having hectic time collating the petitions.

Exchanging views with newsmen in Asaba, Ada also said that he was not aware that there was a parallel congress within the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state other than the one conducted at the Cenotaph at Asaba, which he sent his men to observe.

He also said that the stage was ready for the commencement of the voter registration exercise in the state.

Earlier at a workshop in Asaba organized by INEC team from Abuja, the coordinator of the workshop, Mrs. Chinwe Monu-Olarewaju, emphased the need for Nigerians to turn out for the exercise stressing that “a time will come in Nigeria when people that have the voters card will be highly recognized in the country and it will become a necessary requirement for attaining some heights.”
