Though many Nigerian house wives and food vendors may not have experienced famine at any time, but the prevailing difficulty in sourcing for the primary ingredients for providing needed meals for their variously families and customers may have left them wondering if that is presently the case in the country.

The Commissioner of Police in-charge of Explosive Ordinance Disposal, EOD, Unit of the Nigeria Police Force, Mr. Chris Olakpe, yesterday, said they have recovered little specimen of evidential value which will aid investigations into the bomb blast that disrupted the two-day National Post- Amnesty Dialogue, an initiative of Vanguard Media Limited in Warri, Delta State.

The Action Congress, AC, in Rivers State, yesterday, condemned the bomb blast at the venue of the Vanguard-organised post-amnesty dialogue in Warri, Delta State, pointing out that ”any agitation in any form to claim the lives of our people is not acceptable and should be condemned unequivocally.”

A NATIONAL newspaper of February 25, 2010 had the following blurb on its last page.

THESE days the people of the Niger Delta are more frustrated at the little they get in return for their peace efforts. There is impatience at the pace of the authorities in Abuja in addressing the challenges of living in environments which oil and gas production has despoiled for more than 50 years.
