NIMN delists members

The National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) has delisted eleven of its members over alleged anti_institute activities.
Dropping the hint in a statement, Rev. ‘Deji Olokesusi,  Executive Registrar of NIMN said the action became necessary in view of the grievous consequences which the anti_institute activities pose d for the institute.

However, the Registrar of NIMN said that the decision to expel members of the group whose activities are now subject of investigation by both the Police and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was taken at the institute’s governing council meeting held November 19, 2010.

It will be recalled that some members of the institute were alleged to have hacked into the institute’s websites, cloned its logo and purportedly claimed to have formed a parallel council.

The alleged cyber scammers were promptly reported to the Police who swooped on them in their hide_outs, carted away their computers and gadgets and locked up their office.

Since their arrest and subsequent from the Police detention, the group was alleged to have embarked on smear campaign of calumny in the media against the leadership of the institute.

The institute in a Public Notice advertorial published in some prominent national dailies cautioned members of the general public and all its members to beware of these individuals.

The affected members are: Chief David Femi Odufowokan, Mr. Rilwan Aderinto, Mr. Gabriel Sanusi and Mr. L.A. Abdullahi.  Others are: Mr. Michael Onuoha, Dr. Olu Ige, Mr. Gbadegesin Gbede, Mr. Dan Ayozie, Mallam Salihu Yahaya, Mr. Adeyemi Ayoade Mabayoje and Mr. Rotimi Adeyeye.
