Gov Obi warns praise singers

By Charles Kumolu
GOVERNOR of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, has called on indigines of the state to avoid praise singing, saying that it was more harmful to the government.

He also charged them to  always notify the government of any policy they felt was unfavourable, noting that he was elected as the governor of every one in the state.

Obi said this at a church service to mark the end of the 2010 Convention of the Grace of God Church at 33, Onitsha.

The governor said he would continue to see the entire state as his territory, insisting that he was elected as the governor of the state, which include even mad people in the state.

The General Overseer of the church,Bishop Nwachukwu, advised the governor  to remain courageous in the work he was doing in Anambra State , assuring him of the prayers of the people of God for him and the state.

The bishop, who described Governor Obi as the best governor the state has had and as the best amongst those that contested for election this year in Anambra State, said he (Obi) had shown that he had a heart to do good and great things and correct the mistakes of the past.

He further urged Obi to remain faithful to God and his conscience at all times and see the entire state as his jurisdiction

In his remarks after the service, Chief Udemezue Anyakor, a member of the church, said that the church was happy over the governor’s visit. He said  he had been coming, even during election time which, according to him, showed his genuineness.

Anyakor contrasted it with those who suddenly started coming to their church during electioneering campaign, adding that soon after the election, they stopped identifying with the church.
