Delta Ag Gov, House on war path

By Austin Ogwuda
MEMBERS of the Delta State House of Assembly may have for the first time fallen apart with the Acting Governor, Prince Sam Obi, who was the Speaker of the House before taking up the acting governorship appointment following, their refusal to confirm a Commissioner nominee sent by the Acting Governor.

When Prince Obi came into power as the acting Governor, he dissolved the entire State Executive Council and while reconstituting the exco, he  forwarded all the names of the Commissioners  except that of Engr. Emma Ebo,  who was in charge of  Ugbenu/Koko Road Dualization project.

But few days back, he submitted the name of Emma Ebo, who was  the only dropped Commissioner that  worked with Uduaghan before his coming in to the House for confirmation along with that of Kate Onianwa and Cosmos Ighoraye.

However, the Assembly at its sitting on, Wednesday, declined to confirm  Ebo and went ahead to confirm the other two  nominees on the ground that the member representing Aniocha North constituency, Mr. Victor Ochei, the constituency where Ebo hails from refused to formally present him.
