Monday, November 22, 2010 broke like any day. But differently for Abdul-Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola. The day broke with all expectation – will it or will it not be a good day? He had been working on his election for about three and half years. Will it end like in the last three times?
There had been indication that it was going to be a remarkable day. All the omens point to that. The lawyers had had their say. The Oyinlola crowd had said all the good things they had to say. Of course, they had the background of the previous cases, but they “denied” the salient points that their client, some of their wards have overshot their numbers.
Rauf had been courteous. Not because the forensic evidence did not add up. It was because the “devil” can do their force.
So,as the day wore on, confidence was wearing thin from the Oyinlola crowd; Aregbesola’s people were gaining confidence.
So, when the judges started to sum up the evidence; sorting the truths from the lies, the truth was becoming evident.
So, the rest is now history. Oyinlola’s flat knife fell down three times and it felt down flat face three times.
I had warned Rauf of the machination of Oyinlola. He had warned Rauf what he would do to him if he came to Osogbo. Rauf had insisted on contesting the Governorship of Osun.
We should be reminded of the Osun Osogbo festival, when Rauf “literally” ran with his life. That was the beginning.
We were aware of the Prince, who even lost in his father’s kingdom. And, we were aware of the Alfas, who rigged in the Oba’s palace. We hope no such thing will happen again.
Now that Rauf has, by the grace of God, become governor of the state, I expect he will give the state good governance and all the good things that Osun State deserves.

I watched the proceedings on television and I saw some of the people who, with Rauf, will give the state some of the good things that will redound to Osogbo by people.
My thanks go to God, the one who makes things happen. Then to Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu. We may not acknowledge him but he has been instrumental to today; when you have mentioned Lagos, Ekiti and now Osun, then the West is about to rise. I know he had shown grit and courage.
His colleagues in ACN are also to be commended: Bisi Akande, chairman of ACN and Akinrogun Olusegun Osoba; Comrade Adams Oshiomhole of Edo and Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo. Together they will release the remaining rump of the West. We should, by this time next year, we will have a good story to tell.
Obasanjo weds
On November 6, 2010, Obasanjo’s daughter by Taiwo Obasanjo, Olubunmi Obasanjo, was hooked. Of course, the solemnisation took place in Obasanjo’s brand new Church – Chapel of Christ The Glorious King – inside the “expansive” Olusegun Obasanjo Library Complex at Okemosan, Abeokuta.
Of course, the usual Obasanjo crowd congregated and among them was the famous Ondo INEC boss, Mrs Ayoka Adebayo. She was with Mrs Bola Obasanjo.
