BENIN—VICE-President Namadi Sambo, will on Monday, December 6, 2010, lead the six South-South Governors, including the South-South Coordinator of the Jonathan/Sambo Campaign Organisation, Governor Liyel Imoke, to Benin City, to kick off the 2011 presidential campaign in the state.

Other dignitaries expected at the event include the Director General of the Jonathan/Sambo Campaign Organisation, Alhaji Dalhatu Tafida, former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Board of Trustees, Chief Tony Anenih, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan and National Assembly members from the zone.

The former Deputy Governor of Edo State and state Coordinator of the Jonathan/Sambo campaign organisation, Mr Lucky Imasuen, who disclosed this to newsmen, yesterday, in Benin City, Edo State, while inaugurating coordinators for the 18 local government areas of the state, said the people of the South South were solidly behind the 2011 presidential ambition of President Jonathan because “he is the most experienced among all the aspirants.”

He explained that Vice-President Sambo would personally be in Benin, next Monday, for the inauguration of the state chapter of the Jonathan/Sambo campaign organisation, adding “that will tell you that apart from the Presidency, we are prepared to take over Edo State to the mainstream politics, which is the PDP.

With the love Nigerians, particularly Edo State people have for Jonathan, victory is sure in both the 2011 general elections and the 2012 governorship election.

Imasuen described President Jonathan as the most acceptable candidate to Nigerians at the grassroots “because he is not a product of any zone but a product of all Nigerians. We are going to see a peaceful political tornado.”

He charged the local government area coordinators to help spread the good work of Goodluck Jonathan.

“Our principal is a gentleman, committed to the development of the country. He does not want to be president of a section or zone. To me, he is the most experienced  person for that office; a one-time lecturer, a one-time Deputy Governor, one-time Governor, the only Acting President we ever had.”
