National President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, has again called on Nigerians to troop out en masse to register during the voters’ registration exercise to enable vote for any candidate of their choice.

Worried by what he described as the seeming desperation of politicians to win next year’s elections at all costs, Pastor Oritsejafor enjoined Nigerians not to trade their votes but rather they should make sure they come out to vote and be prepared to defend their votes.

According to him, daily media reports indicate that desperate politicians who are determined to actualize their political dreams by any means are said to be daily importing heavy arms and ammunition with which they hope to foment trouble and impose their will on the people of the country.

Speaking at the ongoing 21st edition of The Redeemed Evangelical Mission, TREM, annual Kingdom Life World Conference in Lagos on Monday, the fiery preacher warned Nigerians against taking bribe from such desperate politicians for their votes.

“If they bribe you with N20,000.00 for your vote, you should be rest assured that you will not have any reason to complain later because that money would serve as your share of democratic dividends for the next four years,” he said.

Continuing in pidgin English apparently to drive his message home to the large crowd of worshippers at the TREM international headquarters in Anthony Village, the CAN president said: “If den no give you water for the rest of the four years, don’t complain because they don settle you in advance.

“If dem no repair your road, please do not complain, because dem don already pay you before. If dem no give you light, don’t complain just use the N20,000 to buy generator, because dem no go listen to you again till another years wen dem need another vote.”
