Aero raises alarm over damaging SMS

By Kenneth Ehigiator

Aerocontractors, yesterday, raised an alarm over the circulation of an SMS alleging that its aircraft were not airworthy.

Consequently, the airline has written to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, asking it to launch an investigation into the matter, with a view to ascertaining those behind the damaging SMS.

The airline in a statement issued in Lagos yesterday, blamed the spread of the SMS on its competitors who it failed to name.

Aero said some people might have taken advantage of the incident its aircraft was involved in penultimate Tuesday, which led to evacuation of passengers at the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos, stressing its crew did what they did in internationally-accepted safety procedures.
