Politicians urged to shun bitterness, blackmail

By Olayinka Latona
Politicians have been asked to shun bitterness,  blackmail and concentrate their energies on providing adequate infrastructure that would enhance the welfare of the people.

The member representing Aniocha North in the Delta State House of Assembly, Mr. Victor Ochei, made the call while speaking to journalists on his intention to run for a second term.

Ochei said, it was only when politicians learn to focus their attention more on developing their areas that the country will  prosper. He promised to partner with like minds in attracting dividends of democracy to his constituency.

The lawmaker, who recently donated 13 buses to secondary schools in Aniocha North, said the gesture was to encourage educational excellence in schools. He commended the effective execution of Governor Uduaghan’s human capital development policy in the state.
Hon Ochei vowed to provide more infrastructure for his people if given another mandate to service.

He expressed appreciation to the people of Aniocha North for the massive support given to him in the past three and half years adding that with a new mandate youth and women empowerment would continue to occupy a centre stage in his agenda.

The lawmaker also disclosed that no amount of distraction will deter him from advocating for people-oriented programmes that would bring succour to his constituency.

He said that as a fair minded politician who has the interest of his people at heart, his return to the House will engender more democracy dividends for the people of his constituency.
