Wife of Ondo State Governor, Kemi Mimiko like many other concerned Nigerians is surely bitter following the way and manner our  film makers are throwing  caution to the wind, while celebrating  indiscriminately some scenes that does not promote morality in our society on the big screen.

Leading other dignitaries and government officials to the fourth edition of the Festival of Indigenous African Language Films, which rounds off today, in Akure, Ondo State capital, the First Lady observed that in recent times Nollywood films are tending towards “soft porn” which she noted as being alien to our culture. She also frowned at the poor grammatic construction that runs through the scripts of our movies

According to her, there is need for the film makers to not only to  shun the displaying of scenes that does not promote morality in our society on screen, but also, they should  insist on producing quality movies.

She advocated the need for the film makers to control the content of their works given the fact that the children are also watching the movies, saying has an indirect way of pushing them into promiscuity. “There is need for our film makers to edit their works properly before churning them out for public viewing.

The content of this works need to be controlled as our children are watching the movies, and this is an indirect way of pushing them into proscuinmity which is gradually increasing at a high speed in our society. Our films are becoming pornographic in nature, and this is not part of our culture. Our films are gradually becoming porngraphic in nature and this is not part of our culture.” she lamented.
