Imo gets new ag Chief Judge

OWERRI—Imo State governor, Chief Ikedi Ohakim, has approved the appointment of Hon. Justice Benjamin Ahanonu Njemanze as the Acting Chief Judge of the state.
A release signed by the Secretary to the Government of Imo State, SGI, Chief Cosmas Iwu, stated that the appointment was in accordance with the provisions of the country’s constitution.

The release also disclosed that the Acting Chief Judge will be sworn-in today, October 4, 2010, at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Government House, Owerri.

The governor thanked the immediate past Chief Judge of the state, Hon. Justice Paul Onumajulu, for what he described as “his selfless service to the government and people of the state”, and wished him well in his future endeavours.

Similarly, the governor has approved the appointment of Mr. Evans Uzokwe as the new Head of Service, HOS, in the state civil service.

A release to this effect which was signed by the SGI, Chief Cosmas Iwu, also stated that “the appointment is with immediate effect”, while the date for the swearing-in will be made public in due course.

Meanwhile, Chief Ohakim thanked the out-going HOS, Dr. (Mrs.) Agatha Ndugbu, for her committed service to the government and people of Imo State and wished her well in all her future endeavour.
