WITH the approach of the general elections in the country come 2011 and Nigeria’s attainment of the golden age of 50 years come October 1, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome of the Christ Embassy Church has charged Christians to pray for a rancour-free elections, saying that it was their responsibility to intercede for the nation’s fledging democracy and the politicians.

THE Federal Government, yesterday, took a swipe at former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, over his claim on the state of the Nigerian economy, saying that Soludo’s days at the CBN remain the worst ever in Nigeria’s history.

Rising from its 53rd National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting of the party held at its National Secretariat, the PDP released its guidelines for the primaries for the 2011 general elections, just as it fixed October 8 for the emergence of governorship candidates on the party’s platform.
