NFF to name Eagles coach October

Nigeria Football Federation administrator, Musa Amadu said that the burning issue of who becomes the coach of the national team will be laid to rest in October.

Mr. Amadu declared that the Eagles must have a permanent coach. He said that the NFF under his care will venture out and tackle the issue after the Nations Cup qualifier game against Guinea on October 10.

“The management may have to take action to find a permanent coach after the match against Guinea.
“We cannot leave things the way they are, and we need to move forward. Austin (Eguavoen) has done a marvelous job keeping things together, but we have to understand that we need to take a permanent decision in the interest of the team and the fans.”

Before the elected board of the NFF was sacked by a Federal high court sitting in Lagos, the federation was on verge of declaring the job vacant.

This was after the board under Aminu Maigari made a u-turn on the appointment of Samson Siasia who was in negotiation with the NFF.
