Youths adopt Uduaghan, Utuama for 2nd term

UGHELLI — Youths in Ughelli South Local Government Area have adopted the Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, his Deputy,  Professor Amos Utuama, and the member representing Ughelli South Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Olorogun Taleb Tebite, for a second term in office ahead of the 2011 elections.

Mr.  Samuel Oghortomo,  moved a motion for their adoption in Otu-Jeremi,  Ughelli South council, which was seconded by Mr. Happy Gbeke, during an interactive session between the youths in the area and the Special Adviser to the State Governor on Youths Affair, Delta Central Senatorial District, Mr. Simon Umudi, who said that the area had witnessed unprecedented development in the last three years.

Oghortomo, said Governor Uduaghan had performed well particularly in the implementation of the three-point agenda of his government.

He said the policies of  Uduaghan’s government, had assisted in the transformation of the state and also improved on the socio-economic life of the people of the state.

Mr. Umudi, in his address, said the state government was committed to the development of the youths of the state and commended Governor Uduaghan for his human capital development initiative.

According to him, youths in Ughelli South council  had benefited from the various progammes of the state government, particularly the State Micro Credit programme and the agricultural schemes.

He said a skill acquisition centre had also been built for youths in the council area, adding that a number of youths had also benefited greatly through the Youth Development Committee set up by the state government.
