Starcomms Plc, last week introduced international roaming for its subscribers. This is even as it launched its friendly Internet Protocol Contact Centre, (IPCC), as well as two dedicated Self-Care lines to enable subscribers access its services with little or no assistance.

Following the introduction of roaming system, Starcomms customers would no longer need to change their numbers whenever they are traveling out of the country as they will have seamless access to international mobile roaming on all wireless technology networks.

This would also enable them to be connected to over 600 networks in over 100 countries in Asia, Africa, Europe, America and the Middle East.

Briefing journalists on the new service at the Starcomms corporate headquarters, Lagos, the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Maher Qubain said the commitment of his company to providing innovative products and services that would simplify lives and enhance living for their customers was a tradition they held very dear.

He expressed optimism that the international roaming service would greatly expand Starcomms network coverage outside Nigeria and simplified the roaming experience of the customers who may have cause to travel outside the country, stating that the network has covered over 175 towns in 31 major Cities in Nigeria.

“We know that many customers yearn for the high quality services of Starcomms everywhere they go. So, the pioneering step of adding inter-standard roaming capabilities  to our portfolio as a CDMA network in this country is just more evidence of  our practice of always being the first to give the customer the best.

“We have continued to make sure that our customers who have cause to travel outside Nigeria feel at home anywhere with all their contacts having access to them seamlessly”, he said adding that Starcomms would never trade high standard for any thing.

Meanwhile, the newly unveiled IPCC came with a multilingual Interactive Voice Record service (IVR) which offered customers services in five languages of English, Hausa, Yoruba, Ibo and Pidgin. According to the Chief Commercial Officer of Starcomms, Mr Tushar Maheshwari said the prepaid voice customers now have the options of choosing from any of the languages that the IPCC provided to make balance inquiry, tariff inquiry, tariff charge for roaming customers, dash me credit together with Caller Ring Back Tune (CRBT), among others.
