Jonathan appoints Garba as chief economic adviser

PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan has approved the appointment a Professor of economics, Mrs. Precious Kassey Garba, as his Chief Economic Adviser.

Similarly, President Jonathan also approved the appointment of another professor, Mr Dan Adebiyi, as his Special Adviser on Policy Monitoring and Performance Evaluation to the President

A statement by Presidential Spokesman, Mr Ima Niboro, said until her appointment, Garba has served as Professor of Economics and Dean, Faculty of The Social Sciences at the University of Ibadan.

According to the statement, the new appointee was also Vice President of the Nigerian Economic Society between 2003 and 2007.

Garba is a recipient of several prizes in academic research and author of many research works on Economics.
