IBADAN—FORMER Military President, General Ibrahim Babangida will arrive Ibadan tomorrow to flag off his campaign for 2011 presidential ambition in the South-West.

This was disclosed by Chief Gbolarumi Azeem, the co-ordinator of IBB campaign in the South-West who was flanked by leaders of the campaign in Ekiti, Osun, Oyo and Ondo states.

This came as a former Deputy to Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala during the controversial 11 months tenure, Chief Gbolarumi Azeem said it was not right for the governor to rubbish the Adedibu political structure that made him what he is today.
He was reacting to a statement by the governor in one of the meetings with newsmen that those at the IBB forum where the intention of the former ruler to vie for the presidential slot was made public were expired politicians.

According to Gbolarumi, “Otunba Alao-Akala would have been nobody today if Chief Adedibu had not brought him out of political valley. Who made the governor himself? Who knew him before now? Adedibu made him and I was one of those that made
it happen. I want you to quote me. Some of you reported then that I led them into the parliament building”.

“If anybody tells me that Gbolarumi is an expired politician, he could not have been referring to me. I am not his aide. Before I started this IBB project, I informed him. I did that because he is my governor and a leader”, he stated.

Asked where he belonged between the two factions within the PDP in the state, he said, he was on both sides of the governor and Senator Teslim Folarin.

He explained that it would be unfair to the Northern part of the country if the PDP zoning system was not recognized since the clause is in the PDP’s constitution.

Explaining further on IBB’s visit, he said the first port of call would be the palace of the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Samuel Odulana and later the governor.
