SHOCKING: Lulu calls Lagerback marvelous

Nigeria Football Federation president, Sani Lulu said that barring any circumstance, Eagles coach Lars Lagerback will retain his job.

Lulu said the NFF was impressed with the work the 300,000 dollars a month coach has done with the Eagles and would love him to stay.

“If I have my way, Lagerback will stay. He has done a marvelous job with the team despite the short time he has to prepare for the World Cup.

“It is sad that we have to go home. Luck was just not on our side,” said Lulu after the Eagles were bundled out of the tournament on Tuesday by night.

Top players of the underperforming national team also voiced their opinion, urging the coach to be kept on the job.
“We keep changing, and it‘s not helping matters. Everyone is saying now that if this team can be together, if the coach can stay, I think he can do a good job. … The future can be better for us,” said Eagles vice captain Joseph Yobo.

“When you bring a new coach, it‘s another pattern. When you bring another one, it‘s another pattern,” added Dynamo Kiev defensive midfielder Yusuf Ayila.

“This is not good for the players. We lose, we win – it‘s football. Let‘s stick to a very good coach.”
However, the Swede-born is yet to make any statement concerning his future. His contract with the NFF will expire in July, and both parties are expected to negotiate new terms.
