Robbers invade Rep’s house, kill two

A gang of 10 armed robbers, weekend, invaded the residence of a member of the House of Representatives, Dr Oluwole Olakunde in Ondo town, Ondo State and killed two of his two security guards.

Olakunde, who narrowly escaped death, had to lock himself up in one of his personal rooms which the robbers shot sporadically for over two hours.

One of the security guards was said to have engaged the hoodlums in a gun duel and he was killed in the process while the other, who was patrolling the street, was equally gunned down by the hoodlums before they could gain access into the vast compound.

Olakunde who represents Irele/Okitipupa Federal Constituency and members of his family were held hostage for hours as the robbers searched but could not find him.

Vanguard learnt that the robbers arrived his residence located at Gani Fawehinmi Street, Ondo around midnight, forced their way into the compound and conducted a thorough search for the lawmaker.

Family source told Vanguard that the robbers had to pull down the security doors in the house and cut the burglary proofs of the windows before they could gain access into the personal flat of the lawmaker.

When it dawned on them that the day was about breaking and they still could not get their victim, they reportedly carted away valuables such as handsets, jewelries, unspecified amount of money and one of his vehicles.
