Different speakers lined up to bring sparkle into the coming conference on ICT and the Nigerian environment, has indicated interests to attend the event as well as promising to tackle the thorny and topical issue of Multiple Taxation in the Nigeria ICT sector.
They are also expected to find solution to the proper deployment, usage and management of environmentally friendly technologies.The conference slated to hold on July 30, 2010 at the Sheraton Hotels, Lagos has the theme: ICT and the Nigerian Environment 2010: Appropriate Taxation and Promotion of Healthy Environmentally Friendly Technologies.

The speakers already confirmed for the conference include the Lagos state Commissioner of Science and Tech, Dr Kadiri Hamzat, MTN Corporate Services Executive, Wale Goodluck, President of Association of Telecommunications Companies of Nigeria ATCON,Engr.Titi Omo-Ettu among others.
and Chairman of the Association of Licensed Telecoms Companies of Nigeria (ALTON), Engineer Gbenga Adebayo.
Others who are also on the list of speakers include, Professor Cleopas Angaye of the Nigerian Information and Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and Chairperson of the Joint Tax Board, Mrs. Ifueko Omoigui Okauru.
The list of speakers and discussants is expected to lengthen as the days go by, according to a statement by the organisers.
The African Independent Television (AIT), eWorld Magazine, Tribe Media and IT Edgenews.com are collaborating to host the first all_encompassing conference on ICT and the Nigerian environment.
The event is designed to bring stakeholders together from the public and private sector to address the common challenges of safety and profit_taxing that has been areas of conflict between government authorities and service providers.
The event will also among others examine and bring stakeholders together in the grey areas on safety of telecom installations and address undue fears concerning emissions from telecom equipment and unwarranted and un_informed attack of telecom operators/installations by environmental agencies at the state and federal levels.
