The Action Congress, AC, has called on all public office holders who are facing corruption and other charges in court to vacate their posts, as the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, Chairman, Prince Vincent Ogbulafor, did last week.
In a statement issued in Lagos on Sunday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said the time had come for leaders to show the way by exhibiting high moral standards and taking responsibility for their actions.

It said Ogbulafor had cited, as a precedent for clinging to the PDP high office, the cases involving former state governors now serving in the Senate, who have remained in the legislative chamber despite their ongoing trials.

“However, after our party kick-started the Ogbulafor-must-resign campaign, others joined in, and the PDP chair’s position became untenable, forcing him to quit.”
