Former junior international Solomon Owello is one of the players on Lars Lagerback’s 45-man list and the Swede says the IK Start midfielder can expect a visit in the coming weeks. Lagerback is assessing players in his shortlist ahead of the World Cup, and he confirmed on Tuesday that Owello is one of the players he plans to run the rule over.

“There’s a list of players that play abroad and that we will watch live in action and evaluate, and adding to them are some players playing in Nigeria that we also will look at,” Lagerback told Norwegian newspaper Faedrelandsvennen.

The Swede added that not every player would be visited, but said those who missed out will be evaluated in camp.
“The players we can’t travel around and watch live we will call up to a camp. This camp will be in May,” Lagerback said.
He did confirm that Owello is one of those who will be visited.

“It is most likely that either me or one of my assistants will come to Norway and Kristiansand to see Solomon Owello play for Start, yes.”

But he would not comment on the player’s World Cup chances.“That I can not comment. Because of the huge media interest in Nigeria and abroad we will not make any comments about special players at this time.”
