Umuahia—A member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Abia State, Mr. Chibuzo Nwogu, has said the party is intact, cohesive, effective and ready to take over the governance of the state from the ruling Progressive Peoples Alliance, PPA, in 2011.

Nwogu, the Special Assistant, Media to Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, also said that Abaribe was never impeached as the Deputy Governor of Abia State.

Nwogu, who was reacting to media reports credited to Mr. Chikezie Emezue, the Special Adviser to Governor Theodore Orji on Parastatals, which cast aspersions on the PDP and Senator Abaribe, said that PDP at both national and state levels is very “solid and cohesive.” He urged Emezue to rather concentrate on organising his party, the PPA and “leave PDP alone because I know that PDP is intact, we are together.”

He dismissed the allegation by Emezue that Senator Abaribe does not respect constituted authority, in respect of the rejection of a nominee from the state to the Board of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, saying that the Governor’s aide was merely ignorant of the workings of the Senate.
