Nigeria has finally sealed a deal to play Paraguay in an international friendly in London on March 3.
General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation, Dr. Bolaji Ojo-Oba signed the contract on behalf of the NFF in Abuja on Wednesday evening, saying:

“The match is certainly on. There were some hiccups early on but we have finally resolved all matters and the game will be taking place”.

The Valley, home ground of Coca Cola Championships side Charlton Athletic, will host the clash between the second–ranked African team and the powerhouse from South America on March 3.

Organisers said the match will take place on March 3 but will likely come up much earlier than the England versus Egypt friendly taking place at Wembley in the evening of the same day.

Nigeria and Paraguay finished 2-2 in an international friendly match played in London ahead of the 2002 World Cup finals in Korea and Japan.

The match on March 3 will be useful to both countries, as the day marks 100 days to the kick –off of the 2010 FIFA World Cup finals, where Nigeria play Paraguay’s neighbours Argentina, Korea Republic and Greece in Group B, and Paraguay plays Nigeria’s neighbours Cameroon, Italy and Japan in Group F.
