LAGOS — The Nigerian Customs Service has flagged off a Laptop Acquisition Scheme, LAS, designed to enable every Customs officer owns a laptop at a subsidised rate.
Comptroller-General of Customs, Alhaji Dikko Abdullahi, who disclosed this in a chat, said the beneficiaries would bear only a 50 per cent cost of acquisition and emphasized that the gesture was to underscore the importance management attached to manpower and capacity development.
He said the LAS was only an aspect of Customs’ management vision to reposition the service for the 21st century challenges.
