ABUJA—In its bid to reposition the force for the challenges of flying and adherence to strict professionalism, the Nigerian Airforce yesterday effected a major shake up in its hierarchy with the redeployment of seven Air Vice Marshals, 33 Air Commodores and 42 Group Captains.

Among the newly redeployed senior officers is Air Vice Marshal Sikiru Oladimeji Smith, formerly the Commander 401 Aircraft Maintenance Depot, Lagos, is now the Air Officer, Logistics at NAF headquarters. Air Vice Marshal C. Onyemaobi, formerly Commander, 99 Air Weapons School, Kainji now moves to Markudi as the Senior Air Staff Officer, Tactical Air Command.

Air Vice Marshal Ibrahim Salihu, formerly the Director Air Intelligence, moves to Defence headquarters as the Director of Personnel Services. Air Vice Marshal DS Dilimono, formerly Deputy Director Operations is elevated as Director of Operation at NAF HQ. He takes over from AVM CE Aroriode who is redeployed to DHQ as Director of Electronic Warfare.

Also affected in the AVM cadre are Air Vice Marshal Jon Ode who is now the Chief of policy and plans, DHQ, and Air Vice Marshal ON Amu who is now the Chief of Defence Communication at DHQ.
