The Chief Executive Officer of the  National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), Dr Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma, has promised to boost the Izon language of the people of Bayelsa State by including the same  in the Indigenous Language Programme of the Institute, in the bid to encourage and promote the rich Izon cultural heritage.

Dr Ayakoroma made this promise while, receiving  the executives and Steering Council of the Association of Bayelsa State Indigenes resident in Abuja (ABSIA) who recently paid him  a courtesy visit in his office in Abuja.  He also promised to network with the association in all their cultural activities.

Speaking at the occasion, chairman of the Pan-Izon group, Mr. Ebitimi Egberipou thanked President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua and Vice President Goodluck Jonathan for appointing Dr. Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma, as the Executive Secretary/CEO of the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO).
