Abuja—The Labour Party said on Sunday that the purported expulsion of its candidate in the Anambra 2010 poll, Dr Andy Uba, by the PDP “is an exercise in futility and in bad faithâ€.
The national leadership of PDP had last week directed that Uba’s name be removed from the party’s register for defecting to Labour Party.
The candidate of Hope Democratic Party, Chief Nicholas Ukachukwu, as well as Progressive Peoples Alliance candidate, Chief Uche Ekwunife in the forthcoming governorship poll were also listed on the PDP expulsion list.Â
Reacting to the development in Abuja, the National Chairman of the Labour Party, Chief Dan Nwanyanwu, told newsmen that the expulsion of Uba was uncalled for.
“The purported expulsion was done in bad faith and with a clear intention to embarrass our candidate, who had ceased to be a member of that party,’’ he said.
