Former Chairman of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF Technical Committee, Chief Adegboye Onigbinde has said that Super Eagles Chief Coach, Shaibu Amodu is totally on his own as the buck on the team’s performance stops with him.

Chief Onigbinde who was speaking before the team’s scandalous 3-1 loss to Egypt said that even though the NFF said he was their technical consultant, they do not consult him to make any input to their preparation for competitions.
“The NFF said I’m one of their technical consultant but as I speak with you, they’ve not consulted me to make my contributions.

Amodu is the only person that can tell Nigerians how far the can go as far as this Nations Cup is concerned. I can tell you that I do not have a copy of his technical programme, he has his own strategies and I pray that it yields results,” he said.

Asked if it means he no longer has interest in the Super Eagles, the Modakeke High Chief retorted “No, far from that. The truth is that I can’t force myself on Amodu, so whatever I think or say may not really matter,” he said, adding, “I was even in a meeting where Amodu said the terms of his contract did not ask him to take advice from anybody. So in that case what do you expect people like us to do.”
