Chelsea duo Michael Essien and Didier Drobga are in the square ropes as Ghana and Coteâ€™d Ivoire fight for who controls group B of the Nations Cup after Togo pulled out due to the terror attack.
Ghana received the cheering news of Essien return to fitness for the crucial game that will determine the fate of the Ivorians after they failed to impress against Burkina Faso on Monday.
The Black Stars were due to play Togo, but that match never saw the light of the day as the events in Cabinda saw Togo returning to base, while Drogba and his teammates played with heavy hearts against Burkina Faso..
But the heat is on in group B with Ghana seeking to win and make their qualification for the round of eight a possibility, however, their west African neighbours would want to prove just why they are favourite for the trophy.
Drogba and Essien who are the livewire of Chelsea will put their friendship aside and ensure that they stay in the tournament. Ghana coach Milovan Rejavac who is without key players would be hoping on youth power to override the experience Ivorian side, but this is not over looking the influence Essien might have on the game.
