THE epileptic electricity supply in the country and its accompanying erratic voltage is not friendly with mobile phones. At least it has resulted in the damage of countless mobile phones, chargers, among other appliances and this is getting industry practitioners on their toes.

Different innovations and strategies spring up every day to beat this monster. The latest of the innovations, stumbled by Hi-Tech recently, is a self regulatory charger, dubbed ‘3G Confirmed Charger. The product is coming a Nigerian mobile phone accessories company, New Age Mobile Concepts Limited, owners of new age mobile phone accessories.

According to the company’s managing director, Mr. Kingsley Okpala, the product was made for those who know and appreciate the value of quality. He said it was in a bid to satisfy their customers’ quest for quality and to save them from the embarrassment of incessant battery failure, phone damage due to the low quality GSM accessaries that the company decided to go into something better.

“We look at the situation on ground, what our customers are passing through, and the only way we can save them from this embarrassment is to produce a high quality battery charger that can withstand any voltage. We decided to go into something better and unique to check adulteration, and to ensure that our customers get the value of every kobo they spend in buying our products,” he disclosed.

Speaking on the features of the new product, Mr. Okpala said the charger has an in-built transformer that helps it absorb any kind of electric current.

This characteristic, he said made the charge very strong that it could not be easily destroyed by the use of generator or public power supply. “It has automatic setting and regulating capacity. It charges faster and regulates itself, you don’t need to press any button because it’s automatic. It came in two designs with seven flashing lights.”

It will be recalled that New Age was the first company in Nigeria to introduce black and white universal charger. “We set the pace in GSM accessories for others to follow,” the company’s boss said. Other products from the stable of the company included, ‘2010 Executive Universal Charger, among numerous others.
