Eagles Players were excited over the customised wrist watches given to them by the Presidential Task Force for their qualification for the 2010 World Cup finals in South Africa.  While the players were given watches, the Chief Coach, Shaibu Amodu, was given N1 million and a new jeep and his three assistants were given the sum of N500,000 each.

Chidi Ordia, one of the beneficiaries of the package said the gift was capable of spurring them into greater action in Angola.
“We are indeed excited over the watch gift. It will spur us to greater heights in Angola”, he said.

Remarkably, nothing was heard about other technical assistants such as the medical team, secretary and curator of the team.  Minister and Chairman, National Sports Commission, Engr Sani Ndanusa announced the package at the reception held in honour of the players at the Congress hall of Transcorp hotel.
