We’re not holding Orji hostage —PPA

By  Anayo Okoli

Umuahia—The ruling Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA) in Abia State says it is not holding the Governor, Chief Theodore Orji in bondage as alleged by a chieftain of the PDP in the state, Chief Benjamin Apugo.

The party said that it was satisfied with the achievements of the Governor within the resources available to him.

Apugo, a member of PDP Board of Trustee (BOT) and a kinsman of Governor Orji, had raised alarm over the poor performance of the PPA government in the state, alleging that the party and its big wigs were holding the Governor  in bondage and had hijacked the state’s allocations, thereby depriving the Governor of the funds needed to develop the state.

But PPA chairman in the state, Chief Emeka Ezeogo, rejected the allegations, saying that Apugo was uniformed on the state’s allocation. He said that the party was satisfied with the Governor’s performance so far.

However, Apugo maintained his position, saying “I still stand that with PPA here, there can be no development in the state. T. A Orji should free himself and join a political party that has vision, so that his name will remain green in the minds of the people through his development. No amount of blackmail can stop me from telling them the truth.”
