AWKA—The 54 man campaign committee led by Vice President Goodluck Jonathan will storm Awka, Anambra State on  December 3, 2009 to officially flag-off the electioneering campaign of Chief Chukwuma Soludo, the Peoples’ Democratic Party candidate in the February 6, 2010 Anambra gubernatorial election.

Preparatory to the flag-off, Governor Martin Elechi of Ebonyi State, who is also the chairman of the organising committee from the national party was in Anambra State over the weekend, to complete strategies and modalities for the event.

This was disclosed by Chief Soludo, while inaugurating chairmen and members of Soludo Campaign Committee from the 21 local government areas of the state.

Soludo charged the chairmen to be up and doing because “this election must be transparent and won clean and square without rigging or violence.” He also told them they are the foot soldiers in the battle for the vote of the people,  advising them to be magnanimuos and open minded in the choice of people to work with by providing leadership that will encourage people to work tirelessly for the PDP.

The governorship candidate said the battle was at the Ward level and charged them to create strong women and youth wings that would aggressively canvass for votes,  mandating them to deliver at least 1000 voters from each of the 326 Wards in the state.
