UYO— Akwa Ibom State government has stated its readiness to partner with groups with sound initiative on how to promote good governance in the state.

The Deputy Governor, Engr. Patrick Ekpotu, stated the government’s readiness when he received the executive members of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Eket branch, on a courtesy call at Government House, Uyo.

Ekpotu said there was no alternative to good gover-nance if the desire of the present administration to see Akwa Ibom catch up with older and more developed states of the federation must be realised.

He emphasised the determination of the Akpabio’s administration to make the entire Akwa Ibom a one city-state in terms of development.

This, according to him, informed the decision to spread infrastructure and social amenities to all the nooks and crannies of the state.

Ekpotu commended the NBA for its interest in good governance, particularly at the local government level and thanked the executive members for constantly relating with the state government.

Chairman, NBA, Eket Branch, Okon A.Okon, who acknowledged the giant strides recorded by the administration of Chief Godswill Akpabio, said the contributions of Engr. Patrick Ekpotu was significant.

He stated the readiness of his branch of NBA to partner with Akwa Ibom State government in promoting good governance, especially at the grassroots.
