Yenagoa – Almost nineteen months after Bayelsa State government promised building a Government Reservation Area (GRA) in Yenagoa, the capital city to ease the acute accommodation problem facing residents, the project is yet to take off.

The state Commissioner for Lands and Urban Development, Chief Whisky Ayakeme, had last May, while enumerating the achievement of Chief Timipre Sylva’s administration, told newsmen that arrangements had been concluded by the state government to build a GRA in Yenagoa as a way of easing the accommodation problem in the state.

The government, the commissioner said, had acquired 55 hectares of land for the purpose, stressing that the project, which would be the first of such since the creation of the state when completed.
