The Flying Eagles in their first mach lost to Venezuela by a goal at the World youth championship in Egypt

Flying Eagles began their campaign in the 2009 U-20 World Cup on a poor note with a 0-1 loss to Venezuela. to keep the jinx of never having it easy with South American teams unbroken.

The team had the ill-luck of playing one man less after former Golden Eaglets captain, Lukman. Haruna was given the marching orders by the referee after a hard tackle on an opponent.

Coach Samson Siasia will have to dig into his bag of tricks in the next match against Spain on Tuesday to able to make it into the next round of the competition
