ABUJA — The Nigeria Football Federation Technical Committee  called for new players to be injected into the Super Eagles as a measure to beef up the team after Sunday’s dismal performance against the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia in 2010 World Cup qualifier at the Abuja National Stadium.

The Fifa and CAF instructor, Chief Adegboye Onigbinde, who is now NFF consultant on technical matters, said after the Technical Committee marathon meeting that beefing up the team with new players was part of the decisions reached.

He also said arrangement has been reached to collectively talk to the players when next they are assembled for their subsequent assignment for them to realise that they are fighting for the country.
Also, technical input would be accepted from meaningful technocrats aside the coaches assigned to the team.

The former Super Eagles coach said other decisions taken include ensuring the appointment of technical director for all the national teams to whom the coaches would be answerable to during assignments as well as creating effective technical department.

While explaining the functions of the technical department and technical committee, chief Onigbinde said the latter makes policies, the former implements them.
“In this case, it is the responsibility of the NFF technical department to monitor players and teams”, Chief Adegboye Onigbinde said.
