FIERY Lawyer Dudu Orumen was short of shedding tears when he talked about the shameful outing of Nigeria’s Super Eagles in their 2-2 draw with Tunisia that has sent many Nigerians into mourning.

Dudu resigned from the Technical Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, when he saw that the people running our football are not serious with their functions. But after surviving the heart attack which the sloppy play of the Eagles put most Nigerians, Orumen pointedly accused Coach Amodu Shuaibu of trying to kill Nigerians with his tactical blunders and fielding of unserious players who had nothing to do on the pitch.

“Amodu caused all these. I’ve always said that it’s a foreign coach or nothing for Nigeria. But many apologists insisted that an indigenous coach was the answer for Nigerian football. We are seeing clearly now that Amodu has nothing to offer.

This is not personal. What can one achieve by kicking a falling horse? How can Amodu turn around to be accusing the players of not playing well? You may ask, who selected the players? Take Taye Taiwo for instance.

What business has he got to do on the pitch? I have said time without number that Taye don’t know how to play football. He is not a full back. He caused us the match. Instead of challenging or marking the Tunisian, he was running back and gave him the chance to shoot at goal. If Taiwo had challenged him, the player would have been confused. It is sad. Also, I don’t know why Joseph Yobo got the chance to play instead of a Sam Sodje or Onyekachi Apam.

Yobo always escort attackers instead of challenging them. Seyi Olofinjana’s inclusion made the whole thing a joke. Honestly, it is only Amodu that knows why he fielded him. Olofinjana drifted to the left in their equaliser and Amodu could not read the match and make changes. As for Mikel Obi, he is not an attacking midfielder.

Forcing him to join attack created problems with the likes of Olofinjana roaming around. Olubayo panicked most of the times and the technical crew could not talk to him.

It is unfortunate to have Amodu pilot affairs when Dan Amokachi and other young vibrant coaches are around. Our best option is a foreign coach”, Dudu ever passionate, critical and intelligent on football said. Asked if Amodu should be kicked out, he laughed. “Kick him out for who to handle? It’s too late to sack him. It will complicate things. It is not an option now. Let him carry his can”.

Orumen said that he truly wanted Nigeria to qualify for the World Cup but could not believe that our chances have once again been toyed with by those blind men who are at the helms of affairs”, he regretted.
