World’s football governing body, FIFA is expected to round off its inspection tour of all the five newly-built 2010 World Cup stadia and the upgraded Soccer City Stadium which South Africa has put in place for the soccer fiesta today.

The inspection, FIFA stated in an e-mail to Vanguard Sports, will end today with a visit to Johannesburg’s Soccer City “after visits this week to Cape Town’s Green Point Stadium, Nelson Mandela Bay/Port Elizabeth’s Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium, Nelspruit’s Mbombela Stadium and Polokwane’s Peter Mokaba Stadium.”

The tour which will be conducted by over 50 experts from FIFA and the 2010 World Cup Organising Committee, FIFA stated, will be “in areas ranging from stadium technical teams to competitions, hospitality, ticketing, media, marketing, television, safety and security, medical and information technology.”
