A 26-year-old man, Babatunde Olalekan, was on Wednesday at Orilowo Ejigbo, Lagos arraigned for allegedly stealing 12 goats valued at N150,000.

The Prosecutor, Sgt. Olakunle Shonibare, told the Magistrate’s court that the accused and other accomplices at large, committed the crime on Aug. 16 at Kudeigbu Estate, Ijegun, Lagos.

He said the goats belonged to eight goat sellers. The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum by the Magistrate, Mrs Adekorode Ajibade.

She ordered that the goats be brought to court on the next adjournment date. She adjourned the case till Sept. 21.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that two of the goats have died in police custody.
