A former Super     Eagles international, Victor Ikpeba, has commended Super Eagles coach, Shaibu Amodu, for creating stiff competition in the national team.

Ikpeba was speaking during a television programme, 2010 Countdown, packaged by Brila FM in conjunction with South Africa Broadcasting Corporation on Tuesday.

The former Monaco player said the introduction of Elderson Echiejine into the team was a big boost for Nigeria.

He said, “Taye Taiwo is very good but I believe Elderson is also a great player and very flexible too. That competition is good because it will bring out the best in both players.

“Coach Amodu and his men deserve commendation because many other positions in the team are now competitive.”
His co-presenter, Brila FM Chief Executive officer, Larry Izamoje, noted that the Eagles are getting better in the qualifying series with every match.

“The match against Tunisia in Abuja is a big one.  The players and coaches should take the game seriously to get the three points,” Izamoje noted.
