Former Chairman of Gombe State Football Association, Alhaji Ahmed Gara-Gombe has scored President of the Nigeria Football Association (NFF), Ahaji Sani Lulu Abdullahi low, stressing that he does not deserve to be returned as president when his tenure expires next year.

He said that the NFF president has not achieved any of the promises he made to the football electorates while campaigning to become the NFF boss, stressing that “his records are completely the opposite of what he promised Nigerians.”

“When he was campaigning, he presented a programme on marketing, youth development, accountability, national teams and the secretariat. As I talk to you, he has no programme on youth development, on marketing, there is nothing on ground. There are no sponsors, even the sponsors they had for the FA Cup pulled out. How much has come into the NFF since he assumed leadership,” Alhaji Gombe queried.

Continuing, he said that “Lulu cannot be talking about accountability when he spends money not appropriated, doesn’t follow due process and cannot account for $238,000 belonging to the federation. In fact, he should be in jail and not talk about re-election.”
Another area he pointed as sore point in Lulu’s tenure at the NFF is his constituency, the North Central zone where all the teams were relegated, three from the Premier League to the Pro League and another three from Pro League to the Amateur.

“Since he became Chairman, how many times has he toured the states or the zones to ask for their programmes, but because election is approaching he is giving N500,000 to each state association in the country. I shouted against the N500,000 which I see as a Greek gift because it will be accompanied by selfish demand of the giver. Why is the money coming now when his tenure is coming to an end,” he queried.

The outspoken former administrator said that Lulu also does not provide robust leadership in the NFF hence the federation has no clear cut relationship with the public as almost every member talks and therefore render the spokesman of the NFF redundant.
