AS Nigerians remain in the middle over the qualification of the Super Eagles, a member of the Presidential Task Force has described as ‘Golden’, the all important barren draw they snatched from the Lion’s den in Tunisia.
“It’s a golden point that brought back the Eagles into reckoning. What it means is that the Eagles should not drop any of their remaining matchesâ€, Izamoje said. While many Nigerians sulk over the poor play of the Eagles, President of Nigerian Supporters Club, Worldwide, Dr Rafiu Ladipo said that he was overwhelmed by the victory of the Supporters Club over the whistle-happy Tunisians.
“Before this game, many people said that the presence of the Supporters were not going to be felt. But we went and silenced the Tunisians in their home. Our trumpets blared and drowned their support. It provided the right tonic for the Super Eagles who held their own. Now, the road is clearer. The Eagles have shown the will. Remember that where there is a will, there is a wayâ€, Ladipo said on arrival.
Back home, however, many Nigerians are still grumbling over the poor play of the Eagles. Having weighed the Carthage Eagles and discovered that they were over-hyped, many believed that the Eagles should have upped their game to get a win that would have put the team on the driver’s seat for the World Cup.
