Prof. Fagbohun, Asiodu reiterate need to strengthen legislative frameworks of wildlife enforcement networks

As illegal wildlife trafficking has assumed unprecedented levels in West Africa sub-region, robbing local communities of their livelihoods and eroding the global commons, Prof. Olanrewaju Fagbohun, a professor of Environmental Law and Policy, and Vice-Chancellor, Lagos State University, has reiterated the need to enhance and strengthen legislative frameworks, incorporation of anti-corruption measures in work plans of national, regional and sub-regional wildlife enforcement networks, technical assistance and capacity-building for relevant stakeholders, deployment of technology such as the use of genotype sequencing to trace elephant ivory origins
